2008 MusicMan Concert~ 2006 Heroes of the Earth Concert

MUSIC MAN 2008

The concept of MUSIC MAN streamed from his boyhood fantasies of a superhero like Spider Man and Bat Man. With each super hero comes an arch nemesis,in MUSIC MAN’s case it’s the “evil” down loader~

Miss No Good Ep 7 Review

Xiao Hua and Do Zi are still trying to complete the task Si Le’s mother set out for them but Do Zi accidentally offended the person they were talking to and ended up getting a black eye, Xiao Hua tried to stop the fight which resulted to her getting hit as well. Shreak finds both of them and concocks a plan, he will help them finish their assignment if Xiao Hua can get Tang Men’s mother to come to the Mother’s Day special for Tang Men’s beauty show.

Xiao Hua gets the address for Tang Men’s family house from Si Le, as Xiao Hua arrives she starts to think about Tang Men’s childhood and how difficult it must of been. Tang Men’s mother is actually quite a nice lady who really cares about her son, its the father who disapproves of his occupation. The mother expresses that she has watched Tang Men’s show twice but because of her husband she does not want to cause any trouble by visiting him

As Xiao Hua goes home in defeat she falls asleep on her bed and dreams about Tang Men and the promise he must of made to an angel in order to gain his freedom. In the dream the angel says that in order for him to be free, he can never love. Xiao Hua wakes up and immediately phones Tang Men to tell him frantically, in response he once again yells at her and calls her stupid.

Xiao Hua, Jojo and Do Zi discuss what they are going to do about the dance competition, Do Zi suggest that they get Tang Men to style them. Tang Men then appears out of no where and wishes to speak to Xiao Hua. He tells her to give her all to the relationship she has with Si Le and try and love him. As they talk Tang Men continues to stare and her and she smiles at him (>_>) he then asks if she likes him… but den corrects himself and asks if she likes him as a friend in which she replies happily that she does. Xiao Hua goes home and asks her grandma to pray with her for Tang Men and hopes that his mother will come tomorrow.

Xiao Hua and Shreak wait for the mother to come but the show was about to start so they had to go back into the recording room. As Tang men continues with his show he suddenly sees his mother. Shocked he could not talk, so Xiao Hua spoke for him which resulted to tears coming out of his mums eye because of Xiao Hua’s sincerity… (and other things)

The mother runs out of the building with Tang Men chasing after her, she tells him that she’s proud of him and its good to see him healthy. Shreak and Xiao Hua follow standing by the door looking very funny because they have sad puppy dog eyes on their faces. Jiang Mi comes out and tries to comfort Tang Men but he wipes his tears away and walks off.

Xiao Hua and Shreak try and contact Tang Men but they get no answer, then Xiao Hua remembers about the package that she was meant to give Tang Men which she gave to Shreak to pass on. Shreak tells her in his weird (see pic 2 above) expression that he left it in his other bag at home LOL.

Si Le and Jiang Mi talk about what happened and Si Le comments about what a cute girl Xiao Hua is for getting Tang Men’s mother to come to the show, Jiang Mi looked pissed off because she still thinks Xiao Hua only wants Si Le for his money.

Tang Men’s mum arrives home to find her husband waiting for her, he asks her why she had to go and visit their son who has not contacted them in five years.

Mum: He is a good boy who is working very hard

Dad: If he was a good boy then he wouldn’t of followed his dreams and ignored our wishes, if he was good then he would contact us instead of ignoring us for five years

Mum: He has contacted us, all those letters he sent that you never even looked at and store apart before I could read them!

(Or something like that…)

Tang Men meanwhile is thinking about Xiao Hua and their “time” together, you can kind of see that slowly he is falling for her.

Jiang Mi finds Tang Men the next morning out for a run, she tells him that compared to Xiao Hua, she actually doesn’t understand him or know him (manipulation >_> the witch) and then says that when he knows he likes/loves Xiao Hua to tell her (because then she can prepare herself for heartbreak… yearight)

Xiao Hua waits for Tang Men at his house to give him the document and to see if he’s okay, at first he isn’t at home but while she wails about him, he appears. Her heart starts to beat really loud and stutters and she tries to explain why she is there.

Jino arrives with the confidential documents that Xiao Hua was meant to give to Tang Men, but actually what Tang Men received was the Cafe Menu. Remember in Ep 6 when Xiao Hua was with Jino in the cafe? Well he changed the documents. Now he is trying to blackmail the company and giving them 3 days to let him know their decision. Si Le’s mother asks who his source was, he tells her to ask Xiao Hua……. GAHHH

New Guy on the Block: Hsiao Hung Jen

If he doesn’t get popular because of his music then he’s going to be known because of the person who directed his first MV: Watch the Sleeves Roll Down, is none other then Jay Chou. Yes I know this is old news but I needed something to post >_> This new comer basically co wrote most of the songs on his first album, through his music he shows our views on modern day society. His work is somewhat similar to Jay in which they both write about Society but Hung Jen adds a freshness to the whole idea as well as a youthful innocence.

I kind of feel sorry for this guy because the truth be told he’s more famous for having his MV directed by Jay Chou then anything else. Not to mention the way the MV turned out, I would like it if it wasn’t for the moving poster… what was Jay thinking…. I think I’ll just listen to the album since the song isn’t half bad.

NEW MV: 王寶釧苦守寒窯十八年

Dramas part one: Taiwanese

Honey and Clover/ 蜂蜜幸運草

Bah another Taiwanese drama that was also made into an Anime and Japanese drama *sigh* I don’t know what they are trying to do but this is going to have endless comparisons to the manga, anime and jdrama. Which brings me to the fact that like most Taiwanese dramas they want to make this funny which means exaggerations such as over the top throwing of people and weird expressions.

There are so many love square, triagles in this drama….

The 5th year architecture student Zhen Shan (Joe Cheng), who is gentle and soft on the inside holds a torch for Li Hua (Su Hui Lun), a lady boss of an architectural firm. At the same time, he becomes aware that his best friend, Ya Gong (Janine Chang) is also having a single-sided adoration for him…

Until the elegant and smart suitor, Ye Feng (Chen Yu Fan) appears, Ya Gong then realizes that she and Zhen Shan are the same. Both unable to respond to the affection given by other’s while being caught in the first love of their life…

A simple and honest person, architecture student Zhu Ben (Li Guo Yi), falls in love at first sight with the niece of Teacher Xiu Shi (Zhang Han), Xiao Yu (Yi Teng Qian Huang) who is a Fine Arts freshman. Zhu Ben’s 7th year senior, Chang Lin Tian (Peng Hu Yan) also falls for Xiao Yu at the same time. With regard to love, being young and ignorant, both have different attitudes and correspondence. But both have an unbeatable sincerity. In a friendship as sweet as honey, there are also many sour and puckery sides to the aporia of a one-sided love.

Rolling Love/ 翻滾吧!蛋炒飯

This is yet another exaggerated drama but then again Jiro Wang is in it so what do you expect. The guy has a talent at portraying the characters that are….. over the top with a hint of sincerity. Danson is in yet another drama that has Jiro in it, this must be the best thing since sliced bread for the JiroandDanson fans. The two leads portray chiefs who come from different backgrounds but are both after one thing: Guan Xiao Shu 關小舒. The musically gifted girl who lost her eye sight due to an accident which Leng Lie 冷冽(Danson) feels the need to protect her although its not out of pity, Leng Lie thinks it so, therefore refusing his feelings. When she meets Michelin 米麒麟 (Jiro) she finds herself falling for him and his frank nature, as their relationship progresses all Leng Lie can do is watch.

Hot Shot/ 籃球火

It is also otherwise known as Basketball Fire, yet another drama related to the ecstatic sport~ First there was the famous MVP Valentine with the star appearance of the “then” boy band of the time 5566 and just last year Bull Fighting appeared with none other then Mike He (pretty boy of Taiwan) as the lead. Now there is Hot Shot, staring Jerry Yan, Wu Chun and Alan Luo. These three guys have a pretty wide spread fan base so even if the actual drama is bad, the loyal fans will be in it to watch them sweat.

Watching the making of this drama whom I’m pretty sure has the same director as Why Why Love may prove to be an okay drama but who knows since the only reason Why Why Love was bearable was thanks to Mike He….

Fated To Love You Ep 13- Rebirth!

This episode was quite a disappointment for me, maybe it’s because I was giving it too much credit and simply assumed that this was going to be THE one. THE Taiwanese drama that was going to soar beyond the rest but then maybe I’m too pessimistic, it just seemed that this episode was going back to the bad acting and annoyingly unrealistic plot that appears in most T dramas.

Xin Yi and Dylan arrive at Shanghai where she is to work for his gallery. He introduces her to his workers, who look very fashionable compared to how incredibly dorky Xin Yi whom they assume is a joke because of her obvious incapability and talent. As she starts her job the same routine continues as it did in Taiwan, she is once again the push over who delivers coffee to everyone and offers to do all their work for them. Dylan gets annoyed because it seems Xin Yi isn’t trying to begin again, she is simply going back to her old self (the one she wanted to leave behind). Dylan asks her, after all she’s been through, all the missed chances she has endured and finally getting away from all that to once again let the chance slip through her hands, how has she changed from what she went through in Taiwan.

Xin Yi: I’m not god, I didn’t come from Taiwan to change and just instantly do it… I really want to change and forget what happened
Dylan: I don’t see you trying! I didn’t let you come here to run away, If you’re going to be like this then you can leave tomorrow.

Xin Yi gets really upset and runs out of the gallery with Dylan chasing after her although she gets away, she ends up lost.

Cun Xi still wants to talk to Xin Yi, he doesn’t leave Xin Yi’s family alone, literally pleading with them just to see her once. Her mother lets him in, she starts to talk about Xin Yi and what she’s been through, tears fill her eyes as she speaks of her daughter. Cun Xi asks where Xin Yi is but her mother asks why would he care, he admits that he didn’t realise until it was too late but he cares for Xin Yi and he wants to see her. Xin Yi’s mother tells him to go back to Anna and leave Xin Yi be, Cun Xi persistently asks where Xin Yi is and how he wants to at least say sorry to her. He hands the two sisters an ipod nano, which contains everything she wants to say to her and leaves.

(I’ve discribed the scene quite unemotionally because I didn’t really understand most of what the mother was saying, since she was speaking Hokkien)

Cun Xi tells Anson to find Xin Yi, Anson pleads him to give her up and move on. He has also run out of lies to tell Anna about where Cun Xi is off to everyday which makes Cun Xi reply that there is no point lying to her because he is going to tell her the truth. Anna who is waiting for him in his office asks him if what he feels is love towards Xin Yi, Cun Xi tells Anna that he loves because she is so ditzy, because if he didn’t protect her then she might get hurt. Anna tells him that though she may appear brave, inside she isn’t really. She wonders what it would be like if they were to have a child, she talks wishfully about it and finally says that what happened on Grandma’s 80th birthday she was very sorry for because if it wasn’t for her then Xin Yi wouldn’t of lost her baby. Cun Xi asks where she will go which she replies by telling him that she was kicked out of the event in New York, she had hopped she would begin again with him but obviously that wasn’t going to happen.

Xin Yi comes across a group of old men by the river trying to come up with a name for the tea set sketch. Xin Yi asks if she could come up with a name, which the artists agreed entertained that a young woman such as herself could find such things interesting. She calls it “One and Only (唯一)” because the the tea plate needs the tea cup and the tea cup needs the lid, the three things are meant to be together even if the drawing itself makes it seem as if they are not.

The Artist walks with Xin Yi to the bridge where he starts to talk to her, she tells him why she came to Shanghai and how she has let her friend down ect She tells him about her husband whom she cannot forget.

Artist: Happiness is fragile and it can easily break (this is a chinese proverb- this is basicly what it means)
If you can’t forget the past then make it a part of you, you must know that you cant always look back that way you won’t move foward
Xin Yi: I want to move foward, i want to say sorry for the person who encouraged me

Thanks to the Artist’s encouragement she deletes the picture of Cun Xi and herself- finally letting him go?

With the help of the Artist Xin Yi gets back to the gallery, Dylan see her and runs to her embracing her saying he is sorry. In which she replies that she’s sorry as well for letting him down and that what he said was very right. Xin Yi tells him that she’ll try really hard so “please give me another chance”.

(If it wasn’t for the fact that this part is important I would give up right now -___-”" the acting of this scene was killing me, the whole dialogue was killing me)

Anyway the Artist turns out to be someone Xin Yi admires, the great sculptor who is very famous. The turning point of this whole episode is that Xin Yi learns under him. (I think it’s because the actress who plays Xin Yi also admires the Artist which is why her acting wasn’t quite believable)

As the story continues you see the changes that Xin Yi and Cun Xi go through. Xin Yi learns art and studies under the Artist with Dylan teaching her other facts. She changes her name to Elaine and gradually becomes a stronger woman leaving behind the pushover she once was.

Two years past and she becomes quite a talented artist although she is still new to the world of art you can see that as a person she has really grown. The people around her admire her and feel that she is a strong woman who seems to have everything: money, talent, a house etc. Dylan surprises her by putting her sculpture on sale at the gallery, he asks her if she will consider him (as a potential boyfriend) in which she replies by laughing telling him that’s the funniest joke she’s heard in a long time.

They end up walking by the river where Elaine places a bet, if her art piece is sold by the next day she will go out to dinner with him……

Additional Thoughts:

The next episode looks really bad, I don’t understand why they must go back to the same plots that are used over and over instead of carrying on as they did with a semi original story line. Well obviously in the next episode Cun Xi figures out where Xun Yi (Elaine) is and they have a great big corny reunion, if the next ep gets as bad as I think it is going to get I might stop watching -__________-”"
